Taha Anjarwalla is Senior Manager for the CAQH Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE). Taha oversees the CORE Certification program, which was designed promote, enforce and track adoption of the CORE rules. Additionally, Taha supports the CORE Rule development process, aids with CORE’s industry education and outreach and facilitates CAQH’s provider data thought leadership initiative. Prior to joining CAQH CORE, Taha served as the Director of Risk Management and Performance Improvement for Northlake Behavioral Health System overseeing quality, compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
Kristine Burnaska, Ph.D.
Kristine Burnaska, Ph.D. is Director, Research and Measurement, at CAQH, a nonprofit alliance of health plans and related associations working together to achieve the shared goal of streamlining the business of healthcare. Kristine manages CAQH Explorations and in that capacity is the lead researcher for the annual CAQH Index, which tracks the healthcare industry transition from manual to electronic business transactions and the related cost savings. Before joining CAQH in 2018, Kristine was the Director of Operations at the Health Care Cost Institute, where she focused on understanding and guaranteeing smooth daily operations of its price transparency initiative. She previously served the Health Industry Distributors Association as Director of Research and Market Intelligence and Abt SRBI as Director of Analytics/Consumer Insights. Kristine holds a Ph.D. in statistics and research methods from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
NDEDIC Chair Person Delta Dental
Kathy Jönzzon joined Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA) as the director of HIPAA product services and support in January 2012, retiring August 1, 2018. She is currently representing DDPA’s interests in external standards groups as a contractor and acts as the DDPA liaison to dental healthcare industry groups promoting the use and adoption of realtime processing solutions and Electronic Data Interchange transactions. Kathy is currently the Chair of the National Dental EDI Council (NDEDIC) Board of Directors and chairs, leads and participates in accredited external standards organizations as well as, NDEDIC Committees, Workgroups and Taskforces. Prior to DDPA, Ms. Jönzzon was vice president of the office of compliance for Delta Dental of California and affiliated companies, where she deployed an industry-wide, nationally legislated, regulatory compliance program including solutions and operational improvement implementations supporting legislated requirements such as HIPAA, Graham Leach Bliley and unique state-level laws and regulations. Ms. Jönzzon executed enterprise compliance policy, monitoring mechanisms, and managed adherence to regulatory customer service levels and customer service performance guidelines. She also served as vice president of information systems and director of several divisions including but not limited to operations, contact center, public relations and finance.
Jason Koch began his career within the healthcare information technology sector in 2001 while working for a health plan to develop complex EDI integrations and refine other aspects of the claim adjudication process. He later worked as a technology consultant assisting financial institutions in creating treasury solution sets dedicated to the healthcare marketplace. In 2007, he joined a technology start-up that created best in class treasury focused revenue cycle solutions. He assisted the firm in growing the business into an industry leading offering that captured significant market share utilizing his experience integrating technical solutions specifically focused on healthcare EDI transactions. In 2018 he joined the B2B Payments team at Change Healthcare to facilitate strategic initiatives that maximize provider acceptance of electronic payment and remittance advice transactions. He is a graduate of the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and currently serves as the Strategic Program Director of B2B Payments at Change Healthcare, LLC.
Le Ann Morris
Le Ann Morris is the Vice President of Business Relations for DentalXChange and has been with the company for over 10 years with another 20 years of experience working with medical and dental clearinghouses. In her time at DentalXChange, Mrs. Morris has lead the team to numerous achievements including the launch of Humana’s and United HealthCare’s All Payer Portals, the national launch of Delta Dental Plan Association’s ERA solution, and the recent launch of DDS Enroll E-Credentialing with Delta Dental of Colorado. Mrs. Morris has been extremely active in the dental community, including being the NDEDIC Committee Chair in 2010 and a pivotal leader in Uniting the Industry, where providers and payers joined together to improve electronic delivery of eligibility and to reduce costs to all parties. In credentialing, Mrs. Morris has been supporting the DSO market for years and sees this as a need for the coming years. Organizations are looking for dental driven tools and Mrs. Morris has been leading the development and launch of these products.
Tom Mort has a focus in bringing all transactions between dental providers and dental payers into the electronic realm. Utilizing the DentalXChange.com website, he has implemented many transactions including eligibility and benefits, claim status, claims and ERAs. Tom has pushed for standard mechanisms for web portals, practice management vendors and clearinghouses to connect to multiple payer systems. Through NDEDIC, X12 and WEDI, he is involved in the creations of standards to “raise the bar” on the quality and usefulness of eligibility and benefit transactions, speed the enrollment for ERA and EFT, deliver claim attachments and posting of payments. Tom co-chairs NDEDIC’s work group 2 which focuses on ERA transactions. He also co-chairs X12’s TGB WG15 Provider Information work group which focuses on EDI enrollment and Provider directory and credentialing transactions. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Information Systems and an Master of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Riverside and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis. 5
Jim Nash has spoken to audiences of all sizes through the various roles that have made up his 25-year career. His work in the IT sector over the last 10 years has propelled him towards passionate advocacy of information security, which he takes with him to his role as citizen legislator in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Jim has also served in several levels of state and local government both as city councilor, mayor, and state representative.
Ted Rendahl is currently a Business Project Specialist at Cigna focusing on EDI and Digital Solutions. Ted has 11 years of experience in the healthcare industry, all with Cigna, concentrating on EDI and Digital solutions for the past 6 years.
Brad Royer is the Product Manager for our flagship product, Dentrix. Since joining Henry Schein One 13 years ago, Brad has worked in Customer Support, Information Systems, Development, and Product Management. In his various positions, he has been a key contributor on projects such as the transfer to a new support knowledgebase, the setup of the data center in Massachusetts, the conversion from the ANSI 4010 to 5010 standards for our electronic claims, and the analysis and product management for Dentrix Ascend. As the Dentrix Product Manager, Brad is responsible for the driving the overall business line for Dentrix.
Jarvis Shockey manages VPay’s direct and channel partner sales efforts in the Dental, Healthcare, Workers’ Compensation and Auto Insurance verticals. Jarvis is also instrumental in directing VPay product development of payment solutions, including ACH/835, Virtual Cards, mobile and “Push to Debit”. Prior to coming to VPay, Jarvis spent 20 years in sales and marketing of electronic transaction solutions, most recently as a Sales Executive for Fiserv Output Solutions, responsible for all e-payment and e-document solution sales in the healthcare vertical.

Sera Tanner joined Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut in 2016 as Customer Experience Director. Sera was inspired and invigorated by the opportunity to partner with the greater Delta Dental organization as they expanded their customer experience competencies and centers of excellence. Prior to Delta Dental, Sera spent over 20 years in the Financial Services industry. From managing Customer Service teams, spearheading new product launches and leading Separate Account Financial Reporting teams, she has always focused on innovation, process improvement and associate engagement. Sera was formerly the Customer Experience Director for Retirement & Income Solutions where she led the team that earned MetLife their first J.D. Power Call Center Certification. In her current role as Customer Experience Director, Sera is responsible for integrating customer experience best practices, process analysis and improvement, and maximizing associate engagement. Since 2017, Sera has been an active member of the Customer Experience Advisory Board at Rutgers University where she assists candidates with coaching and participates in the program through panel discussions and presentations. Sera has a Project Management Certificate from Boston University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
Jason Wolan has 18 years of IT experience, across a variety of specialties, most recently working as Senior Director of Systems Integration for Great Expressions Dental Centers. In his current role, Jason is responsible for Revenue Cycle & External Integrations including EDI with a focus on process efficiency and automation. Leveraging EDI, specifically the 837/835 exchange, Great Expressions has been able to grow its automated reconciliation of Insurance AR by 500% in 3 years. Current focus is now on automatic verification of eligibility and benefits with a target of 50% of all patients by March of 2020.
