Work Group Spotlight: NDEDIC's Proposed Eligibility and Benefits Usability Program Through a consensus building process, NDEDIC's Work Group 1 is responsible for advancing the growth and adoption of electronic eligibility benefit inquiries submitted via the ANSI ASC X12 270/271 transactions. Work Group 1 recently launched a new cross- functional task group that is focused on the following: (1) Developing a new NDEDIC Usability Score, and (2) Making meaningful updates to the NDEDIC companion guide (the "Top 56" guide). NDEDIC envisions that the proposed Eligibility and Benefits Usability Score will evaluate broad samplings of 271s to clarify for providers and payers how those 271s align to the companion guide. Work Group Highlights: Work Group 2 Work Group 2 is responsible for advancing the adoption of electronic remittance primarily through the creation of best practice guidelines for the ANSI ASC X12 835D transactions. Work Group 2's co-chairs will provide an overview of the Work Group's current priorities and discuss how you can get involved. |

Work Group Highlights: Work Group 3 NDEDIC's newest Work Group is responsible for defining a mechanism to annotate a claim related to whether Claim Review was performed, by whom it was reviewed, identification of the review's details, and the review summary's recommendation. Work Group 3 will also define a mechanism to return the same information in responses to claims (claim status or ERA), define identities of claim reviewers (A.I. processes, human reviewers, etc.), and explore the creation of technical guidance documents and registries. The Work Group's leadership will summarize progress made to date and discuss upcoming initiatives. |
