NDEDIC Awards

Benjamin D. Ward Award

Purpose:

To recognize an NDEDIC member who has done an outstanding job of promoting dental EDI, as well as lending support to the mission and goals of the National Dental EDI Council (NDEDIC). The award is named for the founder of NDEDIC. NDEDIC membership votes on a slate of nominees, based on established criteria, to select the award recipient.

Criteria:

Any member in good standing whose NDEDIC membership was active during the last award eligibility period, who has not been a previous recipient of the Benjamin D. Ward Award for Excellence in Dental EDI and is not a current member of the Council’s Board of Trustees.  Exemplary performance by an individual must clearly identify them as having played a key role in endorsing and enhancing the mission and vision of NDEDIC.  Outstanding accomplishments and/or achievements to which an individual dedicated a significant amount of their time may be considered as qualifications for this award if it is of magnitude and significance to NDEDIC and/or the dental services sector of the healthcare industry.

Volunteer of the Year Award

Purpose:

To recognize and thank individual members of the Council who have  unselfishly devoted considerable and sustained personal time, effort and other contributions toward meeting the goals and objectives of the Council as established by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees Committee selects the recipient from a slate of nominees.

Criteria:

Any member in good standing, whose NDEDIC membership was active during the entire last award eligibility period of May 1, 2018 - April 30, 2019

Rising Star Award

Purpose:

To recognize individual members of the National Dental EDI Council (NDEDIC) who in their first three cumulative total years of membership have risen above the norm to become actively involved in the organization by participating in work groups, committees, and special projects.

Criteria:

Any member of NDEDIC in good standing, whose eligibility criteria date is based on the members’ original anniversary date, which must be three years or less at the closing of the nomination submission deadline and who has not been a previous recipient of the Rising Star Award.  Exemplary performance by an individual must have been such as to clearly identify them as having risen to the challenge to play a leadership role during their short tenure with NDEDIC.  A single accomplishment/achievement may be considered as qualifications for this award if it is of magnitude and significance to NDEDIC.
